Being an Ally to Support Women in the Workplace

With her infectious laugh and bubbly character, Rholda manages the 12-member team responsible for receiving securities certificates that are to be electronically shared and sent for safekeeping in the 存 vault. She has been with the company for 19 years, navigating through advances in technology and an evolving industry for almost two decades.

Q: How has being in an ‘inclusive environment’ empowered you to bring your full and best self to work?

Rholda: At 存, employees are celebrated for their diverse perspectives and backgrounds. 作为其中的一部分, employees are encouraged to join a Business Professional Network (ERG) to help them further develop their skills such as networking, leadership and strategic planning. 存 offers several ERGs including Asian; Black/African-American; Hispanic/Latino; women; lesbian, 同性恋, bisexual and transgender; early- and mid-career; and Veterans. I’m a member of several of these ERGs, 通过这些小组, I’m able to build my network and gain new skills that has helped me in both my professional and personal growth.

Q: How can having an inclusive environment benefit the organization and the industry?

Rholda: When Superstorm Sandy hit the New York City area in 2012, it challenged our organization and provided the opportunity for all of us to work together and rise to the occasion. 当时, we were based in our building in New York City and as the storm hit, it quickly became evident that we would need to operate out of another location for the foreseeable future. Before we left, everyone gathered together to say a prayer, regardless of faith and ethnicity. 下一个, we turned our attention to our work – ready to meet the needs of clients who were also impacted by the storm. Q: How is ‘being unique’ an advantage in 存?
